Lights Alley, Brest

4.9
Walk down , where each lantern sculpture tells a story. Each gas lamp is part of an elaborate piece of metal artwork that pays homage to everyday people. Sit in an old carriage or on a bench below a little cupid with an arrow. See a giant nose sticking out from an officer's collar, illustrating a satire by famous Russian writer Nikolai Gogol. Other sculptures include a little shoe shiner, an artist's easel, a tradesman selling pretzels, and more. At sunset, the lamplighter starts turning up the lanterns by hand. You can watch a light show from one of the many small cafes nearby. Plan a trip to Brest easily and quickly by telling Inspirock to suggest an itinerary.

  • A beautiful alley running along Gogol Street is strewn with magic lanterns, which were installed by local private organizations at their own expense. It turned out beautifully, it is nice to walk both during the day and in the evening.

  • I saw similar concepts in Ukraine. Zaje cool idea with characters from the novel and Nowel Gogol. He tends to get a little bit into literature. I was prompted to familiarize with the creations of Nicholas
