Mir Castle, Mir

The present form of Mir Castle testifies to its turbulent history. Gothic, Baroque, and Renaissance influences blend harmoniously to create this World Heritage-listed monument. The complex features exhibits, embankments, parks, ponds, and a chapel with the tomb of the last owner. View the reconstruction of the mid-18th century Rococo interior in the portrait hall and then rent an audio guide to learn more about the castle's history. You can taste some local cuisine at a restaurant in the basement. Amenities include a hotel and a gift shop. Be prepared to climb a lot of steep, narrow, winding stairways. Put Mir Castle into our Mir online itinerary planner and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • Very much it was pleasant to us, and in many ways it is an achievement Guide. Otherwise the Castle ran for half an hour, learning little. As well-and the history of the Castle and its legends, the life of his servants and owners ... The castle itself too impressed, though some gives it a shade of pinkish lightheadedness, and from the outside it looks somehow too new (and here there is a stretch of the old walls, left for clarity). But still, compared to the Nesvizhskim, the Mir castle really resembles a medieval. Life hack number 1: you can reach from Minsk is not a direct bus and train to Gorodeya and from there local bus, it is three times cheaper, and at the same time. Nesvizh and peace bound passing buses, Gorodeya just in the middle. Life hack number two: after six hours of Peace to leave virtually no on anything, so if you intend to lock both in one day, first in the world, and then in Nesvizh.

  • Mir castle is beautiful. Even when we come to him only, he has already struck with her beauty! Very interesting to see the Hall with the stages of its reconstruction, as from the ruins was recreated this handsome man. Very impressed by the towers of the Castle inside with their steep staircases and beautiful panorama, opening from the top tier!

  • One of the most famous historical sites in Belarus that had survived and was restored almost in its primordial appearance. Check the opening times before visiting and the bus schedule if you’re using public transport to get to Mir. Entrance is free, you only need to purchase a ticket for visiting a museum, which is nice. There is a nice little cafe inside if you need some rest. Very pleasant time spent. Would recommend visiting if you’re interested in history or just want to appreciate the view and architecture.
  • It's been my first time after renovation. Good museum exhibition. Didn't have enough time to see everything properly though.
