Mir Castle, Mir

The present form of Mir Castle testifies to its turbulent history. Gothic, Baroque, and Renaissance influences blend harmoniously to create this World Heritage-listed monument. The complex features exhibits, embankments, parks, ponds, and a chapel with the tomb of the last owner. View the reconstruction of the mid-18th century Rococo interior in the portrait hall and then rent an audio guide to learn more about the castle's history. You can taste some local cuisine at a restaurant in the basement. Amenities include a hotel and a gift shop. Be prepared to climb a lot of steep, narrow, winding stairways. Put Mir Castle into our Mir online itinerary planner and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • The castle is a younger brother of Neswizhskogo, but not inferior. It is said that there was a secret passage linking them. What exactly now exists is a great bike path between the castles!

  • This castle makes a strong impression. They climbed into the towers and went down to the cellars on very narrow stairs, where two people do not disperse. The climbs to the top are steep and narrow. And not all of it is under force. The exhibits are interesting. Impressive seen!

  • One of the most famous historical sites in Belarus that had survived and was restored almost in its primordial appearance. Check the opening times before visiting and the bus schedule if you’re using public transport to get to Mir. Entrance is free, you only need to purchase a ticket for visiting a museum, which is nice. There is a nice little cafe inside if you need some rest. Very pleasant time spent. Would recommend visiting if you’re interested in history or just want to appreciate the view and architecture.
  • It's been my first time after renovation. Good museum exhibition. Didn't have enough time to see everything properly though.
