The land was first consecrated when the Noble Serment of Crossbowmen, a local guild, decided to turn their exercise space into a modest chapel. However, this humble church was replaced in the 15th century, with an interior that was completed in the 17th century. The cathedral is covered in carved reliefs and ornate masonry, while the interior reflects the efforts of the wealthy families to bring the richness of daily life to the church service with gilded Baroque chapels. This was really an amazing cathedral, right there in the centre of Brussels. Considering that we weren't looking for for it, it was an amazing find. Very ornate and extremely well detailed. This house of worship is definitely worth your time.

Beautiful church, both inside and out. The 12pm Sunday mass(in French) was amazing since they had a soloist and a flute player along with the grand organ playing during the mass.
