Divers can examine the enormous limestone stalactites and meet a variety of aquatic inhabitants, including Caribbean reef sharks dwelling in the depths. • This was the main objective of our trip. Dive the blue hole. We decided to take a flight over the hole as you can’t get a sense of it from the boat. We loved the flight. We chose to hire a private div...  more »
  • This place is not easy to get to but it is pretty awesome. A submerged cave formed during the last ice age then submerged as the sea rose rapidly over 20 years. The reef has recovered and it’s a cool ...  more »

  • I was in Belize March of 2019 and dived there with Amigos Del Mar. Many people over there in San Pedro will tell you (even fellow divers) that the Blue Hole is not that much of a nice dive. The main reason is because there is hardly any wildlife at all. A few small fish and that's all. But the Blue Hole is not about the wildlife. Snorkeling the Blue hole is not worth it at all, but diving it is amazing. If you are not interested in cave diving this will probably be the closest to cave diving you'll ever do without the dangers that are exclusive to it. You basically go around 40 meters deep and then work you way up slowly while following the edge of the Blue Hole. Again no wildlife at all but the amazing sensation to be flying in a cave. You are basically diving around huge stalactites and stalagmites. Because the Blue Hole was a cave before ending up underwater! Easily one of the nicest experience i have done diving. I recommend it in a heartbeat!!
  • Don't go with high expectations. Its just a hole. Saw one shark and then there's the cave structures which is cool to look at, but that's about it. There are cooler spots in that area however "the aquarium" and "half moon wall". Those are filled with great coral and plenty of sealife, to include rays, eels and reef sharks that are all friendly and curious.
