Learn about the poet's life from his childhood years as the son of a struggling shoemaker, to his prolific career as an author at H. C. Andersens House. The museum opened in 1908 in the small yellow house, which is considered his birthplace. A reconstruction of the artist's study displays personal items, including his walnut writing desk and his writing set--glass ink containers on a brass-ornamented wooden tray. Take the time to hear his tales, such as "Little Mermaid" or "The Princess on the Pea," at one of the many listening posts. The poet's creative range is also evident through his drawings and collages. Buy a book by H.C. Andersen, available in several languages at the museum shop. Work out when and for how long to visit H. H. C. Andersens House Reviews
Het is eigenlijk zoals met veel dingen in Odense die met H.C. Andersen te maken hebben. Leuk om eens langs te lopen als je een rondje door de stad maakt maar heel erg spectaculair is het allemaal niet... more »It is actually as with many things in Odense dealing with H.C. Andersen. Nice to walk along if you make a round of town but very spectacular it's all not....
כאן נולד הספור המפורסם, תחילתו עבודה כשוליה לסנדלר, ויש כאן גם כלי עבודה מפעם, ההמשך מעבר לעיר הגדולה קופנהגן וכל היתר היסטוריה. מומלץ לבקר more »This is where the famous story was born, the beginning of a work as an apprentice to the shoemaker, and there is also a working tool, the sequel beyond the Great city of Copenhagen and the rest of history. It is recommended to visit
At the entrance we were told not to drink during the visit. So we left a bottle of milk and a bottle of water at the front desk. After the visit I went to the front desk to collect these two items. And I was told that the milk was thrown away!!!! I am very upset. And it was really difficult to explain my daughter what happened to her milk too. It is not a big deal to make a failure. But using excuses like ‘there are so many people here everyday’ ‘some one threw it away’ was really a bad idea. Admitting the failure would be much better. We would have no problem to accept it. My daughter said, maybe we should have left Dad to guard the milk ;) 😓😂
The museum consists of 5 different museums located across Odense. They are all different and are showing the life of the famous H.C. Andersen. They give you a wrist band at the receptions that you can show entering the next museum. There is no time limit and you can also start from any museum you want!
