Get a bird's-eye view of Berlin from the top of Berliner Fernsehturm, the highest point in the city. A symbol of Berlin since it was erected in the 1960s, this is the tallest structure in Germany. The tower is 368 m (1,207 ft) tall, with an observation deck 204 m (670 ft) above ground. Try to time your visit for a sunny day, as thick fog can obscure the view from the top on overcast days. You can wait for the morning mist to clear at the tower's rotating restaurant, which spins 360 degrees in just under 30 minutes. The tower welcomes nearly 1.5 million tourists each year, so be prepared for a long wait at the entrance. You can avoid standing in line by booking a fixed date and time of your visit on the tower's website. Berliner Fernsehturm Reviews
Too crowded, too overrated, too overprice, you cant see anything, its worthless to go to see the views more »
The tallest structure in Germany and third tallest in Europe offers fantastic views of Berlin. The fernsehturm also has a revolving restaurant (make a reservation) that features full meals along with.... more »
If you manage to get there on a quiet day it's an amazing experience. We were lucky and didn't have to wait in line. We had a drink at the bar upstairs which was very reasonably priced. It wasn't difficult to get a seat in the restaurant either. We had a great time all around. The view is just amazing and we felt it was money very well spend.
As someone who is a bit scared of heights it took a bit of convincing that going up the TV-Turm was something that I would enjoy. It's a decent experience, all the way from the talk the tour guides give you whilst in the lift, to the spectacular views of the city from the observation deck. I did stand quite far back from the windows due to nerves, but I was still able to enjoy seeing some of the best Berlin landmarks from above (you can easily see the Brandenburg Gate, the Victory Column, Berlin Cathedral and others).
