Olympiapark, Munich

4.4
#3 of 37 in Outdoors in Munich
You can climb the roof and bungee-jump into the famous Olympiapark, home of the 1972 Olympics. This stadium is one of the rare examples of infrastructure built for the Olympics that has remained in use long after the end of the event. It now hosts concerts, festivals, and even religious special occasions. The complex includes the stadium, swimming hall, ice rink, media center, tennis facility, Olympic village, and iconic 291 m (955 ft) tower. At the top of the tower is an observation platform and revolving restaurant. You can walk, cycle, inline skate, or jog around the lake. Or, you can rent a row or paddleboat. • Very large domain where you can walk for hours. Much to see many food stalls of dubious quality. Little Terrace possibilities.

  • No matter for walking, jogging or just on a beer in the beer garden, the Olympic Park simply fascinates

  • Nice place to take a walk. The view from Olympiatower is amazing and dining in the spinning restaurant there is fantastic, although expensive for not quality food. Outside the tower where the lake is you can grab some slush puppies and crepes and sausages. There's a mini golf place. The Sea Life is there.Tiny but still nice to visit, way too expensive though.BMW World a very tiny museum at Olympiapark is for free. Worth the visit. There are many attractions, festivals there throughout the year and many more things to do,check it out!
  • Such a lovely and amazing place. Glad it has stood to be such a clean, busy, and exciting destination even after the overshadowing events of the 1972 Olympics (RIP). The park is very welcoming (as long as you’re okay with very big, smooth concrete and steel structures and landscaping) with VERY open space and great open air allowing for blue sky and sunshine to shower the entire park.
