Kothari's Patwaon-Ki-Haveli remains a pristine example of classical Indian townhouse. Constructed by the Patwa family in the 19th century, the structure consists of five town homes, built for each of the five Patwa sons. Weave your way around this extensive maze of luxurious rooms, looking out from the glittering balconies and admiring the intricate paintings and carvings blanketing the walls, inspired by Rajputi and Mughal architecture. Made from sandstone, the entire structure appears to glow with a golden hue, intensified in the early evening sun.     The museum inside the haveli is rocking. It's like looking at the house of then ambani and Adanis. Each piece inside the museum has a story to tell and it is really an exhilarating experience.  more »

    The beauty of this place lies in the meticulously carved exteriors. There is not much to do inside the haveli as it has dilapidated interiors that have not been properly maintained. You can though visit it at a nominal Rs. 50 fees to see some intricate carvings, classic gold ceiling work and some views of the fort and city (refer to my photos). There is no need for a tour guide whatsoever (you will get a few roaming around charging about 50-100)

    The view from the fort is really nice. The way to the fort is through walk, don't take jeep as it is a waste as they will drop you very far from the fort, rest of the way you need to walk. On the way you will find jain temple. The directions are not given on the way so it is a little difficult to find the place. You will find a temple on the top of the hill. Nice hike up to an old temple. awesome views. Go for the sake of the hike and surrounding natural beauty . Go for the sake of the hike and surrounding natural beauty
