Kerala Backwaters, a crisscrossing network of coastal waterways navigable by boat, provide one of the region's most efficient transportation options and tourist attractions. More than 900 km (560 mi) of lagoons, canals, lakes, and estuaries make up the network, and draw visitors from around the world looking to glide lazily under palm trees and past traditional villages on a houseboat. Explore this massive network of water-routes by renting a boat, as this makes for the easiest mode of transport and allows you to get an up-close glimpse of a region nearly frozen in time. Kerala Backwaters is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our , online itinerary creator Edition.

Kerala Backwaters reviews
This is the worst boat house service in Kerala. They fleece you by taking to a sea food shop which is very costly amidst the backwaters saying they serve only chicken and the rest has to be purchased.... more »
Had a great time on the boat. The food here was excellent. Santhi Lal and his crew members were very friendly and professional. more »
Wondering what are Kerala backwaters and why to witness them? The best way to know about them is to opt for one of them. With a long lasting list of backwater tours, this place is just one of its kind and extends a sense of freshness accompanied by picture-perfect backdrops of greens. So it is a very must visit place and if you go there you will see the forest and you will feel so in with the nature It will be as if you are with God
We took the government day boat up the backwaters for 8 hours and got off in Alappuzha. It was amazing. The boat was basic but had a WC, it was cheap given the length of journey and the scenery was breathtaking. I found the boat very comfortable but if you have a bony bum, you might want a cushion. There are two stops for a snack and a larger meal. These cost extra but are still very cheap. I felt safe on the boat and the staff were helpful. Definitely worth the trip although keep your stay in Alappuzha to one night. It’s a revolting place. It’s a shame because architecturally it’s interesting but if you’re a lone female traveler then keep it short !!
