Watching over the Arabian Sea, Gateway of India stands as perhaps the city's most recognizable symbol. The imposing gate, which reaches a height of 26 m (85 ft), reminds visitors of the grand architectural legacy the British colonial empire left behind. Note that the basalt gate fuses several different architectural styles, including Roman triumphal features and local Hindu and Muslim aspects. You can wander through the gate to view the domed ceiling and see the inscription above the arch, dedicated to the visit of King George V and Queen Mary in 1911. a week ago Have you ever thought of going out by yourself? Have you had thoughts like well is it safe to go out alone? Trust me Gateway of India is one of those kind of getaways. Just get out of the house, explore those beautiful lanes of old Bombay. I really love the architecture of the buildings out there. Gateway of India is beauty by itself. It's peaceful to sit in front of the majesty, take few deep breaths, enjoy your Zen and thank me later. The best attraction in Mumbai! Great photos can be taken especially in the late evening. Lots of people around also enjoying and taking photos. FREE ENTRY. The area is safe during normal business areas with a security checkpoint on the way in. Plenty of other attractions and restaurants nearby.""Very good place to morning walk, night walk and eating junk food"
