When the light's right, you can observe all the colors inside--shades of blue and emerald in the water, yellow on the limestone walls, and all the pink and purple minerals. Unfortunatly many places struggled with access due to unrepaired prior storm damge. You could see the potential for some great sights but access was too risky. more »

Not too hard to get too - lovely and cool down there on a hot day. Amazing rock formations. Can be slippery underfoot (reef shoes would be good), and a torch would be handy too. Great photos. more »

Amazing lime stone formations! And a fun cave to explore - it's more spacious than you think if you go a little further beyond the rope guide! Make sure to wear proper footwear!

From July to October humpback whales live in the seas around Niue. They migrate from Antarctica each year to give birth and nurse their young. You can often see the whales from land, which means your morning coffee at a cliff's edge café could include a whale tail slapping demonstration. There are several tour operators offering whale watching trips and the possibility of in-water whale encounters.
