Hop on the funicular to be transported from the center of Bergen to 320 m (1,050 ft) above sea level, in just five to eight minutes. Head to the viewing platform where the city of Bergen and its surroundings can be seen from a bird's-eye view, including the mouth of the fjord and the islands of Aunnhordland. From the top, you have a choice of hikes that vary in length and difficulty. For children, check out the playground that features a giant troll statue.     Highly recommended. The funicular ride itself is nice, and the view from Fløyen is hard to beat. Once you're on Fløyen, I recommend the cafe past the souvenir shop for its delicious buns. Also, on...  more »
