Muzeum Powstania Warszawskiego houses a permanent exhibit dedicated to the 1944 rebellion by the underground resistance movement against Nazi occupation. Although the uprising failed, it remains a proud event for Poland, as it was the largest military effort of any European resistance movement during World War II. Opened in 2004, the museum features hundreds of artifacts, including weapons and love letters written by some of the more prominent insurgents. Explore the audio and video displays to learn about the brave citizens who died attempting to free their city. • Beautifully restored town. Lots of traffic, quite restless. Great distances to walk everything. Rest can be found in the "old" town and in the many parks. Lots to see. A cosy centre at the Central Station under a beautiful glass dome. Many high-rise buildings, even more under construction.

  • A museum that everyone should see. And not only because of the subject, because if you want to see how interesting museums and exhibitions should be, then you should come here.

  • Nice museum to visit but with several shortcomings: first, there was a huge queue on a Sunday we visited, which makes the waiting last for 1h (despite the ticket being free); second, the museum is very rich, with an incredible amount of legacy documents and items from the Insurrection that require a long time to see in reasonable depth; third, the museum does not really have a defined tour pathway, which makes it a bit confusing (also, it is inside a particularly dark building, which makes it even harder). All in all, a good place to visit, with rich content on the Insurrection but useful if you come early in the day and spend at least 2h inside.
  • Amazing setting. Very interesting form, not just flat plain facts. Been twice, both surprisingly good. On the negative side, price of a t shirt.
