Abai Village, Sokcho

Historical Tour · Tour
Soak in the peaceful fishing village atmosphere of Abai Village, known for its seafood restaurants and picturesque scenes. During the Korean War, many elderly refugees of North Korea fled here, resulting in its name Abai, meaning "aged person." The village was the backdrop to the extremely popular KBS drama "Autumn in My Heart"; today, you can ride the raft that the main character would regularly use in the show to cross the harbor. The main draw--and the village's livelihood--remains the abundant seafood. Try the popular local delicacy, the Abai sundae: a squid stuffed with clear noodles, tofu, and vegetables.
