Park Guell, Barcelona

#Nature / Park, #Must See
One of many notable city structures designed by famed architect Antoni Gaudí, Park Guell is a garden complex built between 1900 and 1914. World Heritage–listed, this complex is noted for being one of the largest architectural structures in this part of Europe. Though it features some of the finest examples of Gaudí’s creativity, for many visitors the highlight is not the exquisite architecture, but the sweeping views. Just inside the main entrance is the interpretive visitor center, featuring an exhibit about Gaudí’s building methods, as well as displays on the history of the park. Wooded and laced with footpaths, the park attracts over 4 million visitors each year. The park can be reached on foot, but if you wish to avoid a vigorous uphill walk, hitch a ride on the public bus. • In good weather, the visit is absolutely recommended - one meanders through some haunted trails and has great views over Barcelona as a reward. And the best: it costs no admission!

  • In the week of the Kar, the Park is quite full. In Barcelona, the Park is certainly a highlight because it offers a beautiful view of the city. Entrance fee to the fun part. I was already a few times there (without admission) and have denied it so this time me. A construction site is also there at the time. The flora and fauna is beautiful to look at and very well maintained. You should always plan a bit up and down and not fun in any weather. The walk from the Metro is again about 10 minutes lang(bergauf). I love the view and can therefore recommend the Park.

  • Gorgeous views. Wouldn't waste your money buying a ticket as the views are outstanding from all areas in the park. Only two toilets on site free of charge - ladies had no toilet roll in any of them & a WC charging 0.5 euros. Very steep climb with lots of walks take bottles of water and food with you in a bag. Overall fantastic experience! Also there is a few childrens parks spotted about so brilliant for all ages.
  • The free potions of the park are lovely but not very unique, would be very peaceful to have a picnic. To see the Gaudi monuments, you have to purchase entrance to the monumental garden. This is worth seeing, but so packed full of people that it's almost impossible to enjoy. The fountains are nearly impossible to get close to without twenty other people in your photo. Still, worth a visit. Recommendation: do not go at peak times, and pay for the monumental zone to see the unique parts.
  • Definitely worth the visit when in Barcelona. This park has some unique architecture and space for you to wander and explore. It took us probably a good 2 hours to walk around the entire park and check out the 2 servants houses near the front. There is a little restaurant that serves refreshments and water (no alcohol) but they are very expensive so my recommendation is you bring your own water when you visit.
  • If you're looking for the best views in Barcelona, then this is the place to be. You can see the entirety of the city from this park as well as the surrounding mountains. The park itself is beautiful and well worth getting lost exploring. Highly recommend that you bring water as the hills are steep, but there are plenty of people selling bottles for a Euro
  • We were in Barcelona for just a day so we didn’t get to see all of the city however, I have to say that I was truly satisfied with my visit after coming to this park. The architecture by Gaudi is outstanding and the view when you get to the top is awesome! We got to see a few musicians playing there as well, they were so good that we bought their CD. You’ll see lots of people selling souvenirs, water bottles and things like that as well.
