A beautiful and romantic city fit for any itinerary, Paris brims with historic associations and remains vastly influential in the realms of culture, art, fashion, food and design.

Kick off your visit on the 9th (Sun): appreciate the extensive heritage of Campo del Ghetto, take a stroll through Cannaregio, admire the striking features of Doges' Palace, then snap pictures at Ponte dei Sospiri, then appreciate the extensive heritage of St. Mark's Square, and finally snap pictures at Ponte di Rialto. Here are some ideas for day two: take in the spiritual surroundings of Santa Maria dei Miracoli, make a trip to Basilica di San Marco, then steep yourself in history at St Mark's Campanile, and finally explore the world behind art at Peggy Guggenheim Collection.

Traveling by combination of train, flight, and bus from Paris to Venice takes 5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a train. Plan for a bit warmer temperatures traveling from Paris in July, with highs in Venice at 83°F and lows at 68°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 10th (Mon) so you can catch the train to Florence.
