Smarhon’ or Smorgon is a city in the Grodno Region of Belarus. Kick off your visit on the 2nd (Tue): step into the grandiose world of Halshany Castle, step into the grandiose world of Kreva Castle, and then contemplate the long history of Village-Museum Zabrodye. On your second day here, explore the different monuments and memorials at Jewish Cemetery, explore the different monuments and memorials at Catholic Cemetery and Chapel, take in the architecture and atmosphere at St Trinity Cathedral, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of St. Michael the Archangel, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Transfiguration Church.

Stockholm, Sweden to Smarhon is an approximately 8-hour combination of flight and car. You can also drive. The time zone changes from Central European Time (CET) to Eastern European Time (EET), which is usually a 1 hour difference. In June, plan for daily highs up to 24°C, and evening lows to 12°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 3rd (Wed) so you can travel to Vilnius.

The capital of Lithuania, Vilnius, boasts an impressive medieval quarter--one of the continent's largest and a World Heritage Site with almost 2,000 historical buildings.
Vilniaus staciatikiu Sventosios Dvasios vienuolynas and Church of St. Theresa will appeal to history buffs. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Vilnil. Museum of illusions and Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania. When in Vilnius, make a side trip to see Trakai Island Castle Museum in Trakai, approximately 36 minutes away. There's much more to do: examine the collection at Money Museum of the Bank of Lithuania, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Church of St. Casimir, take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. Anne's Church, and take a stroll through Vilnius Old Town.

You can drive from Smarhon to Vilnius in 1.5 hours. Expect a daytime high around 24°C in June, and nighttime lows around 12°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 8th (Mon) to allow time to take a train to Kaunas.

Situated between the Neris and Nemunas rivers, Kaunas is known for its old town, which, though smaller than the capital's, is in much better condition.
Let the collections at Rumsiskes Open-Air Museum and National M. K. Ciurlionis Art Museum capture your imagination. Ninth Fort and Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul are good opportunities to explore the local culture. There's lots more to do: examine the collection at Museum of History of Lithuanian Medicine and Pharmacy, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Christ's Resurrection Church, browse the different shops at Akropolis, and steep yourself in history at Kaunas Town Hall.

Traveling by train from Vilnius to Kaunas takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In June, daily temperatures in Kaunas can reach 24°C, while at night they dip to 11°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 11th (Thu) to allow time to drive to Palanga.

Palanga, Lithuania

Palanga is a seaside resort town in western Lithuania, on the shore of the Baltic Sea. Step out of the city life by going to Curonian Spit National Park and Raganu Kalnas (Hill of Witches). Cold War Museum and Palanga Amber Museum are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Get out of town with these interesting Palanga side-trips: Klaipeda (Sculpture The Black Ghost & Lithuanian Sea Museum). Next up on the itinerary: enjoy the sand and surf at Palanga Beach, walk around Birute's Hill, and explore the striking landscape at Naglis mountain.
