The famous setting for Shakespeare's star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet, Verona is one of northern Italy's main tourist destinations, largely owing to its incredibly rich artistic heritage.
Get some historical perspective at Piazza San Marco and Arena di Verona. Museum-lovers will get to explore Doge's Palace and Casa di Giulietta. Change things up with these side-trips from Verona: Venice (Parrocchia Santa Maria Formosa, Ponte di Rialto, &more) and Spiaggia Castelletto di Brenzone (in Castelletto).
