Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
When in Rome, make a side trip to see Villa d'Este in Tivoli, approximately 48 minutes away. There's still lots to do: explore the ancient world of Colosseum, admire the local landmark of Trevi Fountain, make a trip to Vatican Museums, and admire the landmark architecture of Pantheon.
