Well-known for the beautiful views of its famous Promenade des Anglais waterfront, Nice is an ethnically-diverse coastal port city on the French Riviera and the fifth most populated city in France.
Kids will enjoy Marineland and Aquasplash. There's still lots to do: take a stroll through Vieille Ville, steep yourself in history at Place Garibaldi, get great views at Le Jardin exotique d'Eze, and appreciate the extensive heritage of Saint-Paul de Vence.

Riga, Latvia to Nice is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and train. The time zone changes from Eastern European Time to Central European Time, which is usually a -1 hour difference. In July, Nice is somewhat warmer than Riga - with highs of 32°C and lows of 25°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 13th (Sat) so you can catch the train to Monte-Carlo.
