As the capital and largest city of Belarus, Minsk represents a cultural center full of churches, libraries, museums, and theatres.
Upper City and Church of Saints Simon and Helena are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Let the collections at Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War and Dudutki Museum Complex capture your imagination. When in Minsk, make a side trip to see The Historical and Cultural Complex Stalin Line in Loshany, approximately 32 minutes away. The capital city of the region of the same name, Grodno (also called Hrodna) was built around the river flowing through it, and is known as a hub for the arts celebrating both modern and classical culture with three major theaters, a philharmonic society, and a multitude of museums.
