Built on seven hills, Lisbon has experienced a renaissance in recent years, making it the cultural star of Portugal.
Step out of the city life by going to Nosso Tejo and Praia Grande. Appreciate the collections at Museu Calouste Gulbenkian and National Museum of Ancient Art. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Lisbon: Guincho Beach (in Cascais) and Sintra (Praia da ursa & Praia do Magoito). Recife, Brazil to Lisbon is an approximately 11-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and flight. The time zone difference when traveling from Recife to Lisbon is 3 hours. Plan for a bit cooler nights when traveling from Recife in September since evenings lows in Lisbon dip to 19°C. Called "Oporto" by many, the city of Porto along the Duoro River lent the country and Port wine their names. Portugal's second-largest metropolis dates back to the 4th century, representing both a rich cultural past and industrial present through its architecture and style.
Porto Cathedral (Se Catedral) and Palacio da Bolsa are good opportunities to explore the local culture. We've included these beaches for you: Praia do Carneiro and Praia dos Ingleses. Step out of Porto to go to Mindelo and see Mindelo Beach, which is approximately 32 minutes away. The adventure continues: kick back and relax at Praia de Lavadores, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Clerigos Tower, contemplate the waterfront views at Rio Douro, and go for a stroll along the water at Cais da Ribeira.
