As the capital and largest city of Belarus, Minsk represents a cultural center full of churches, libraries, museums, and theatres.
Venture out of the city with trips to Mound of Glory (in Slabada), Dudutki Museum Complex (in Ptich) and Holy Spring of St. Nicholas (in Lahojsk). There's still lots to do: pause for some serene contemplation at Church of Saints Simon and Helena, get in on the family fun at Gorky Central Park, get engrossed in the history at Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Holy Spirit Cathedral.

Bucharest, Romania to Minsk is an approximately 9-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a train. The time zone changes from Eastern European Standard Time to Moscow Standard Time, which is usually a 1 hour difference. In October, Minsk is a bit cooler than Bucharest - with highs of 11°C and lows of 2°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 7th (Wed) early enough to go by car to Polotsk.

Polotsk or Polatsk is a historical city in Belarus, situated on the Dvina River. Venture out of the city with trips to Hlybokaye (Airplane Monument to P. Sukhomu, Trinity Church, &more). And it doesn't end there: see the interesting displays at Saint Sophia Cathedral, steep yourself in history at Jesuit Academy of Polotsk, pause for some photo ops at Francysk Skaryna Statue, and pause for some serene contemplation at Church of Saint Andrey Baboli.

The capital city of the region of the same name, Grodno (also called Hrodna) was built around the river flowing through it, and is known as a hub for the arts celebrating both modern and classical culture with three major theaters, a philharmonic society, and a multitude of museums.
