Gomel is the administrative centre of Homiel Voblast and with 526,872 inhabitants (2015 census) the second-most populous city of Belarus. Change things up with these side-trips from Gomel: Bobrujsk (Bobruisk Fortress, Monument to a Beaver, & more), Vetka Museum of Old Believers and Belarusian Traditions F.G. Shklyarov (in Vetka) and Zamkovaya Mountain (in Mazyr). There's still lots to do: make a trip to Gomel Palace & Park Ensemble, pause for some photo ops at Clown Karandash, examine the collection at Vetka Museum of Old Believer Faith and Belarusian Traditions F.G. Shklyarova, and pause for some serene contemplation at Peter and Paul Cathedral.

For other places to visit, more things to do, photos, and more tourist information, use the Gomel trip website .

In September, plan for daily highs up to 22°C, and evening lows to 11°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 1st (Tue) to allow time to travel back home.
