The capital city of the region of the same name, Grodno (also called Hrodna) was built around the river flowing through it, and is known as a hub for the arts celebrating both modern and classical culture with three major theaters, a philharmonic society, and a multitude of museums.
Museum-lovers will appreciate U Maystra Gallery and House-Museum of Eliza Ozheshko. The Jesuit Catholic Church and Kalozha Church Boris-Gleb Church are good opportunities to explore the local culture.
