The capital city of the region of the same name, Grodno (also called Hrodna) was built around the river flowing through it, and is known as a hub for the arts celebrating both modern and classical culture with three major theaters, a philharmonic society, and a multitude of museums.
On the 4th (Fri), examine the collection at Museum of Iron, take in the pleasant sights at Sovetskaya Street, walk around Zhiliber's Park, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Holy Intercession Cathedral, then don't miss a visit to Great Choral Synagogue, and finally examine the collection at The Watchtower of the fire department and a Fire Museum.
