Grodno— 7 nights
The capital city of the region of the same name, Grodno (also called Hrodna) was built around the river flowing through it, and is known as a hub for the arts celebrating both modern and classical culture with three major theaters, a philharmonic society, and a multitude of museums.Museum-lovers will appreciate Pharmacy Museum and The Watchtower of the fire department and a Fire Museum. Get some historical perspective at The Jesuit Catholic Church and Kalozha Church Boris-Gleb Church. Get out of town with these interesting Grodno side-trips: Museum of Glass Plant Neman (in Byarozawka), Melovyye Kar'yery (in Karpovtsy) and Wolf Monument (in Vawkavysk). There's still lots to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at The Old Castle, look for gifts at Cudounia, go for a walk through Sovetskaya Street, and see a show at Grodno Regional Drama Theater.
