Thoughtful regional museum punching above its weight. Surprising number of much appreciated English translations. That’s quite unusual and certainly broadens accessibility to mainstream tourist audience. This comment applies to TOP-LEVEL narrative and not so much individual captions. Big win if museum translates all the way down as I’d have wished to learn about specific photos, documents, and artifacts that were captioned but not translated. Focus is regional, not big picture, and they do a good job covering their corner of history. Crammed in a shockingly tiny space behind is a ton of military hardware, much of it post-WWII. Another big win if museum translates outdoor identification placards to English. Staff was highly suspicious of this foreigner, but that’s the norm. They keep a proximate and watchful eye.
