Create an itinerary including Bielaviežskaja pušča National Park
Hike or cycle through Bielaviežskaja pušča National Park, the remains of a primeval forest which once spread across the European plain. This World Heritage Site is home to wolves, lynxes, otters, and the endangered European bison. Seek out the large, ancient English oaks, which are individually named. Attractions here include a nature museum and a zoo, and you'll also find souvenir and food stands. Take a bus to the Santa Claus residence--a small, artificial village based on Russian folklore. Walk among wooden huts and see the wooden statues representing different fairy tale characters. Due to strict preservation regulations, tourists are allowed only in the buffer zone of the forest. • I did the 27 km bicycle route and the 2 trails of 6 km each, but I didn't see a bison except in the enclosures, only briefly a herd of deer. Quiet forest, but nothing special. It is very well...

  • Nice place to take a walk, or go biking. You can see animals that live or lived in the forests around you. They are unbelievably tame so you can approach them very closely. Forest itself is very well....  more

  • Very well planed surroundings, multiple interesting attractions and a lot of space to walk and use advantages of the forest. Animals are well taken care of, one could say that they are even groomed. Restaurants have good choice of tasty food, although prices seem to be a little high for this type of a place.
  • Despite rainy weather, we enjoyed a very nice bus tour with tasting of local moonshine. We also visited a museum and the park with wild animals. The tree on the picture is 600 years old. Definitely recommend it!
