Shop in a landmark building at The State Department Store, a modern shopping center that's the largest and reportedly most luxurious store in Mongolia. Established in 1921 as the Central Store in the country, the store today features a variety of international brands and local products such as cashmere and camel leather. You'll also find a number of services like goldsmiths, seamstresses, beauty parlors, laundries, and dry cleaning. There is a diverse and affordable food court, plus a supermarket on the ground floor; find souvenir shops on the 5th floor. • This was ok. It looks a lot more modern on the inside than it did on the outside. From a mall perspective, it lacked many of the brands you'd expect from a western perspective, but there were plenty of local ones to peruse as you need. Nice little coffee shop on the top floor, and a massive souvenir shop if you're hunting. I wouldn't go back there, as I've done it, and am not an souvenir type of person, but my other half enjoyed it.
  • Almost everything in one place? Don’t mind if I do! Also has a museum retelling its history on the top floor.
