In many ways the most modern of Italian cities, Milan is a busy, elegant metropolis with an impressive list of grand palaces, fine churches, and important museums.Start off your visit on the 3rd (Mon): get your bearings at Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, step into the grandiose world of Castello Sforzesco, and then admire the striking features of Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. On your second day here, make a trip to Piazza del Duomo, pause for some serene contemplation at Duomo di Milano, then don't miss a visit to Piazza Sant'Alessandro, then pause for some serene contemplation at Chiesa di San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore, and finally admire the striking features of Palazzo Confalonieri.
